With Brexit looming, we remain unclear about the rules that will apply to PETS after the 29th March. The government has advised that we prepare for a worst case scenario, where the UK becomes an unlisted third country under the PETS scheme.
This means that pets will require a blood test no less than thirty days after a rabies vaccination, and then having to wait a further three months after the date of a successful blood test before they may enter a EU country. The whole process is going to take at least four months. It is therefore imperative that clients wishing to take their pets to an EU country this summer speak to us at the earliest opportunity.
