Returning to ‘Almost’ Normal!

Posted on 19 June 2020

We would like to thank all our clients for your patience and support throughout the Covid 19 lockdown period. A special word of thanks must go to every member of the PLVG team who has worked long hours under difficult circumstances.

As the government eases restrictions, we are now starting to return to near normal service. Social distancing requirements make it very difficult to work at our normal levels of efficiency – please be understanding when things take a little longer than normal.

Appointments can be booked in the usual way however please bear in mind that we have lots to catch up on so we may still have to delay some routine visits. We will be prioritising appointments for sick pets followed by puppy and kitten vaccinations and those pets who are more than 2 months overdue their vaccinations due to Covid19. All the vets are consulting for long sessions and we have very little time for telephone conversations apart from reporting laboratory tests. We would greatly appreciate it if clients can leave messages with reception whenever possible, or email us at info@plvet.co.uk for updates or questions regarding cases we have seen recently.

Our opening hours remain 8.30am – 7pm Monday to Friday and 8.30am – 12 noon on Saturdays. Unfortunately, we are currently unable to offer late evening appointments on Thursdays at this time.

Our closed-door system will continue for the time being. (We have a small team and shall be unable to deliver a meaningful service if we lose one or two team members to illness or the need to self-isolate.) Please telephone us on arrival for your appointment and one of our friendly nursing team will meet you at the door to take your pet inside.

You can help us by:

  • Giving as much detail about your pet’s recent history and clinical signs to the team member you speak to when making your appointment. It may be helpful to write down your main concerns and hand it to the nurse collecting your pet.
  • Remaining in the car park and ensuring we have your mobile number so we can call and update you on your pet’s health during your appointment. Please stay on the premises unless we tell you otherwise!
  • Emailing your requests for repeat prescriptions and food before 4pm for collection after 2pm the following day.
  • Paying for repeat prescriptions and services by credit or debit card over the telephone.

Our reception team are ready to take your call on 01732 353668. We look forward to welcoming you back soon!

**Please do not bring your pet to the practice if you or anyone in your family is self-isolating**

**due to symptoms of Covid-19 (symptoms include fever, cough and a loss of taste or smell)**
