Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy isn’t just for humans!
If your pet is recovering from a surgical procedure, getting over an injury or is in pain due to an ongoing condition, your vet may prescribe a course of physiotherapy sessions to help in their recovery.
Physiotherapy is the application of physical stimuli, either through low or high temperatures, light, pressure or movement. Techniques include soft tissue mobilisation, stretching, therapeutic exercise and advice.
Every session is tailored to your pet’s needs and their condition.
We can offer a range of services, all aimed at improving your pet’s quality of life, reducing pain and accelerating recovery.
What effects can physiotherapy have on my pet?
We have seen a range of benefits when using physiotherapy with our patients.
For those recovering from injuries or surgeries, physio can reduce swelling and pain, as well as encouraging healing due to improved circulation and muscle stimulation.
It can also help your pet to improve their mobility through increased muscular and joint function.
As well as physiotherapy, we offer water-based therapy in our hydrotherapy unit in Sevenoaks, as well as specific mobility clinics , to help those pets who are struggling with movement.
In what instances can physiotherapy be helpful?
In order for your pet to receive physiotherapy with us, they must first be referred to the sessions by your vet – who will be happy to talk you through the benefits for your specific case.
